In the field of high-temperature alloys, choosing the right material is often more important than choosing the most expensive one. Many customers I’ve met often struggle with material selection: Which type of capillary tube can meet the operating requirements without unnecessary cost? Today, let’s take a closer look at the GH3030 capillary tube — a cost-effective and reliable option.

Core Advantages of GH3030 Capillary Tube

GH3030 is a typical nickel-chromium solid-solution strengthened superalloy, containing about 70% nickel and 20–23% chromium. Its composition is simple yet highly practical. This alloy exhibits excellent thermal strength and ductility below 800°C, along with good oxidation resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, cold formability, and weldability.
After solution treatment, the structure becomes a single-phase austenite, which remains stable during long-term service — meaning GH3030 maintains its performance even under prolonged high-temperature exposure.

Temperature Adaptability: 900°C as the Key Threshold

When it comes to temperature performance, 900°C is a critical dividing point for GH3030 capillary tubes.

  • Long-term service temperature: up to 900°C

  • Short-term peak temperature: around 1000°C

Within environments below 900°C, GH3030 performs extremely well — for example, in domestic wall-hung boilers, small industrial furnaces, or temperature measurement capillary systems. Its heat resistance is more than sufficient, and the cost remains relatively economical.

Performance in Corrosive Environments

The chromium in GH3030 forms a dense oxide film, providing excellent oxidation resistance. In environments involving clean air, inert gases, or non-corrosive media—such as high-temperature steam pipes in food processing equipment—GH3030 delivers reliable durability and long service life.

However, in the presence of acidic gases, sulfur compounds (such as those in power plant flue gas), or strongly corrosive media, GH3034 (containing molybdenum and tungsten) can offer superior corrosion resistance due to the formation of a denser oxide film.
Therefore, material selection should always be based on the specific corrosion characteristics of the working environment.
